My friend for a reason I thought you were true,
But you ran when you thought I had need.
I was your friend for all time and I thought you were mine,
But now things have changed and there’s no going back.
I’m your friend for all seasons for sunshine or rain
A storm now and then doesn’t shake me.
But I’ve learned a while back it takes two hands to clap,
And I’ll wait till you’re ready to join me.
Now you have the reason but don’t have the face
To accept your mistake and move on.
I’m your friend for all seasons but you judge by your standards,
And I won’t make an effort – I know you need time.
I’m your friend so I know that you’ve taken a blow,
And I hope that you’ve learned, that you take a new road.
And that maybe someday when it all blows away,
You’ll come back more mature having learned to be true.
To be friends with no reason and friends for all seasons.
And maybe by then I’ll have reason to be,
Your friend for all seasons.
Again.
This is lovely.

This is a great poem. I especially like the lines and the bold heading format you have chosen.
These words you used are a delight to read:
But I’ve learned a while back.
It takes two hands to clap.
And I’ll wait till you’re ready to join me.
This is a lovely reminder not to be judgemental of dearest ones. Thanks so much for that.
